Last Farmer's Market for the 2009 Season

This past Saturday was the last Farmer's Market for the May to November 2009 Season. It was a pleasure being able to be part of a new group and get to meet other Crafters. I can't wait until this coming May to do it all over again with my new friends. Since it was the last Farmer's Market, I had brought my camera with me and asked one of the customers who comes every weekend if it was okay to take a picture of his dog. Along with this posting, I'm going to include the picture of the dog for you all to see. It is one very sweet looking dog!

El pasado sábado fue el último mercado de granjeros que se ha celebrado desde mayo hasta noviembre de 2009. Fue un placer poder formar parte de un nuevo grupo y conocer a otros artesanos. No puedo esperar hasta el próximo mayo para hacerlo todo otra vez con mis nuevos amigos. Traje mi cámara conmigo y un cliente me preguntó si estaría bien sacar una foto de su perro. Adjunto a esta nota incluyo la foto del perro para que todos lo veáis. ¡Parece un perro muy dulce!

While I'm getting ready for next season's Farmer's Market, I'm planning on doing some new knitting projects. The new knitting projects will also be for the upcoming Indoor Flea Markets that will take place in February-April 2010 (information and details to follow closer in time of the event(s)).

Mientras estoy preparándome para la siguiente temporada del Mercado de Granjeros, estoy planeando hacer algunos nuevos proyectos de tejido. Los nuevos proyectos de tejer también serán para los próximos mercados interiores de Flea que serán entre febrero y abril de 2010 (información y detalles vendrán próximamente a tiempo de los eventos).

What Is This?

Here is the new contest that we've been working on recently. The name of it is:"What Is This?". Along with this posting, I'm going to post two pictures of the new product that I had knitted recently. One person at the last Farmer's Market in Kentlands on Saturday suggested that the item could be called a Gadget Snuggly. What other names and uses can you come up with? The best name and use wins the knitted item shown in these pictures.

Aquí está el nuevo concurso en el que hemos estado trabajando recientemente. Se llama: “¿Qué es esto?” A lo largo de este post voy a incluir dos fotos e un nuevo producto que había tejido recientemente. Una persona en el Mercado de Granjeros de Kentlands de los Sábados sugirió que este artículo podría llamarse un “Gadget Snuggly”.

¿Qué otros nombres y usos puedes sugerirnos para él? El mejor nombre y uso gana un artículo tejeido mostrado en estas fotos.

And the Winner Is......

We would like to thank everyone who had participated in the very first Knitting By Leah contest! Everyone that had participated had given us tons of great ideas for new and very useful products. There were no restrictions as to how the item(s) were to be used. So, the winner of our very first contest is...... Clara P.! Clara came up with the idea of using phone socks and crayon carriers for feminine hygiene products. Congratulations, Clara on your great idea!

Me gustaría agradecer a cada uno que ha participado en el nuestro primer concurso Knitting By Leah. Todos los que han participado nos han dado toneladas de grandes ideas para nuevos y muy útiles productos. No había restricciones de cómo iban a ser usados. Así, el ganador de nuestro primer concurso es... ¡Clara P.! Clara vino con la idea de usar los calcetines de móviles y estuches para lápices para productos de higiene femenina. We are thinking of having another contest starting in the next few days. It is to come up with a name for one of our new products that was made a few days ago (pictures will be posted). There will be more details about the new contest coming soon!

Scarves, Scarves & More Scarves

This afternoon, I had started knitting a white colored scarf that has diamond shapes in the pattern. I'm using the same pattern as when I knitted the Long Wool Poncho (see previous postings for example). So far, I have done about 140 rows. Once I have everything finished, I'm going to take the scarf with me on Saturday to the last Farmer's Market for the season.

Esta tarde he empezado a tejer una bufanda de color blanca que tiene forma de diamante en el patrón. Estoy uHasando el mismo patrón que cuando yo tejí el poncho largo de lana (echad un vistazo a las publicaciones anterior, por ejemplo). Hasta ahora he hecho cerca de 140 filas. Speaking of scarves, I also made another scarf recently that is brown colored and has an argyle look to its pattern. I'm also planning to bring that scarf with me to the Farmer's Market on Saturday, as well.

Farmer's Market Information & Last Day of the Contest News

At today's Farmer's Market in Kentlands, a lot of customers stopped by to see what new items we had for sale. One customer bought two hoods (Hot Pink and Royal Blue). I have a feeling that they will come in very handy this Winter season coming up. When I have the chance, I will put some of the pictures of the hoods on the Knitting By Leah Pictures section. That will be probably done in the next few days from now.

En el día de hoy, en el Mercado de Granjeros en Kentlands, muchos clientes se pararon para ver qué nuevos artículos teníamos a la venta. Un cliente compró dos gorros (uno rosa cálido y otro azúl real). Tengo la sensación de que van a ser muy útiles en esta estación invernal que se aproxima. Speaking of the Farmer's Markets, on Saturday, November 21, 2009, that will be the last time there is going to be a Farmer's Market at Kentlands until May 2010. If you would like to come and see the knitted items that we have for sale, please come to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds and go to the Arts Barn Building #2 on February 20th, 2010. You can also look at the web site and see if there is anything that catches your eye.

Hablando del Mercado de Granjeros, el próximo sábado día 21 de septiembre, será la última vez que habrá un Mercado de Granjeros en kentlans hasta mayo de 2010. Holiday Hoods & More Winter Projects to Come!

This afternoon, I knitted two hoods for the holidays. One hood is Green colored. The other hood is Red. I'm planning to knit a third hood in the next few days that will be made with both colors together just in time for the holiday season. The Green and Red hoods look great! I know you'll like them a lot! Once I have them put together, I'm going to take them to the Farmer's Market this weekend. There will also be some pictures of the hoods once I get the third one completed.

Esta tarde he tejido dos capuchas para las vacaciones. Una capucha es de color verde. La otra es en rojo. Estoy planeando tejer una tercera capucha en los próximos días que estará hecha con los dos colores juntos, justo a tiempo para la estación de vacaciones navideñas. Las capuchas verde y roja están genial. Sé que os encantarán. Una vel las ponga juntas, voy a llevarlas al mercado de granjeros este fin de semana. Habrá también algunas fotos de las capuchas una vez consiga completar la tercera.

In other knitting news, I'm also thinking of knitting more scarves. I hope to have the scarves done by November 21st (the last Farmer's Market at Kentlands). If I don't have the scarves done by November 21st, then I can have them ready for the new upcoming season of the Indoor Flea Markets that I plan to be participating in as a Vendor starting February 20th.

En otras noticias de tejer, estoy pensando en tejer algunas bufandas. Espero tener las bufandas hechas para el 21 de noviembre, el último mercado de granjeros en Kentlands. Si no tlas tengo hechas para esa fecha, entonces I puedo tenerlas preparadas para la nueva sesión que llega de la Indoor Flea Markes que yo planeo estar participando como vendedora, y que comenzará el 20 de febrero.

Speaking of the Indoor Flea Markets, they will be held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds; in Building #2 ( the Arts Barn). The Indoor Flea Markets are from 9am-1pm. The dates that I will be at the Flea Markets are as follows: February 20th, March 20th and April 17th.

Hablando del Indoor Flea Markets, estarán ubicados en el terreno ferial del condado de Montgomery, in el edificio núm. 2 (The Arts Barn). El Indoor Flea Markets (Mercado de Flea cubierto) es desde las 9am hasta la 1pm. Las fechas en las que estaré en los mercados de Flea son como siguen: 20 de febrero, 20 de marzo y 17 de abril.

November 7th Farmer's Market Thank You!

I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone who had been to today's Farmer's Market at Kentlands and bought some of the new knitted items that I had been working on recently (Child's Scarf, two pairs of Child's Mittens, and a hood). I would also like to thank those who had donated a $1 for the National Kidney Foundation.

Me gustaría empezar diciéndo gracias a cada uno que ha estado hoy en el Mercado de granjeros de Kentlans y compraron algunos de los objetos tejidos que han sido trabajados recientemente (bufandas pra niños, dos pares de guantes-manoplas para niños, y una capucha). Speaking of the Farmer's Market, I'm going to knit two hoods. One will be Hot Pink. The other one will be Royal Blue. I'm going to take some pictures of both of them once they are completed. I know you'll love how they'll look once you see them. Once those are finished, then I plan on knitting other hoods that will be colors for the holidays. Later today, I'm going to finish making the body of a pink and white baby blanket. This time, I knitted the hood part of the blanket. The pink that I'm using is a little lighter than the one I had used once before, but the yarn is very soft to the touch. I know that a baby would love how it felt wrapped around them!
