At the Montgomery County Fair
I went to the Montgomery County Fair on Sunday and saw some very beautiful clothing and other handmade items at the Arts and Crafts Building. The items I liked the best were the cute blankets and lovely hats that two different people had made. One of the people who made a blanket got tons of ribbons.
One of the baby blankets that I saw was made with baby blue yarn. It was made for the Linus Project. That was displayed in a glassed-in case in another building.
The hats on display were very colorful and also in different sizes. Some of the hats were made to fit babies that were preemies. There was one hat that was made with really furry-like yarn.

The Placemats..... Are Done!
This afternoon, I worked really hard to get the last three placemats finished for this Saturday's Farmers Market. From looking at them, I have to say that they are very lovely! I'm going to take a picture of all four placemats later today and hopefully get the picture posted very soon. Once you see the placemats, you'll just love them, too.
In other knitting news, the next project that I plan on doing is a poncho. I'm going to use a diamond design for the pattern. I'm also going to put some fringe on the poncho to help keep it flat.
Well, I guess this is all for now. Have a wonderful week ahead!

Placemats Update
I started the first placemat this afternoon. It looks great, too. I'm using the same kind of pattern that I used for the Taupe purse. The only differences are:
1) The yarn I'm using is cotton-- not acrylic.
2) The yarn is also white colored.
3) The placemat is reversible.
I took a few pictures of the first placemat, so they will be posted in the next few days from now. They probably will be on the Knitting By Leah Pictures Section along with some other pictures that I had taken today, as well. When the set is completed, we are going to sell the placemats at an introductory price of $15 per set of 4.

Placemats
This afternoon, I am planning on starting a set of four placemats. They are going to be made with white cotton yarn. The pattern will be the same as the Taupe purse I had made a few months back (see pictures in the Knitting By Leah Pictures section for details). We are hoping to have them done by this Saturday's Farmer's Market at the Kentlands area (Main Street Pavilion/grass area).
Along with the placemats, I'm also working on some new phone socks and headbands. If you're a fan of the Redskins, then come and buy a matching His and Her phone socks! Show your team spirit while protecting your cell phone!
Well, this is all for right now. Have a wonderful rest of the week. Stay tuned for more knitting news.

August 8th's Farmer's Market News & Knitted Items
At the Farmer's Market, a pink colored Crayon Carrier got sold. This seems to be the most popular color for Crayon Carriers. I find this very interesting.
Speaking of Crayon Carriers and other knitted items, I plan on making more Crayon Carriers and Phone Socks in the next few days for this coming Saturday. Some of the Phone Socks will be different shades of purple, green and brown.
Well, I guess this is all for right now. More knitting updates to come soon.

There's a picture of the Farmer's Market that I had done a few weeks ago near the end of July that I had been meaning to post. That will be posted either after tomorrow's Farmer's Market, or in the next few days. There is also a picture of an Eye Glass Case that is made with yarn skeins that are Lavender and Iris colors. I'm sure you'll like them both once you see them.
