Mill Creek Parish 2012 Holiday Craft Event & KBL's Event Schedule

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far.

At yesterday's event for Mill Creek Parish, there were a lot of different kinds of items that the Vendors were selling.  One of the Vendors had a table that was for the pull tabs from soda cans.  She takes the tabs from the cans and uses them to create purses, wallets and any other item you can think of.  She has asked me to help her collect the pull tabs and let her know when I have more than 10 tabs so she can get them from me.

Also at the the event for Mill Creek Parish, there was a Silent Auction for those items the Vendors had given for the table.  If a Vendor's item has been given a bid, those that got the highest bid will be notified on Monday by the Church.

We would like to thank those who had bought hoods, tissue carriers, dish cloths and crayon carriers.  We also would like to thank those who had been to our table and took business cards.  It was nice to see how many Customers wanted to buy early gifts for the holidays!

This Week's Update on the Farmer's Markets

At the Farmer's Market for Damascus High School, we sold Crayon Carriers.  We would like to thank those who had bought them.  We also want to thank those who had stopped at our table and asked for business cards.  We hope to see you all this week again on Thursday from 3:30 pm-6:30 pm.

At yesterday's Farmer's Market for the Kentlands, the Vendors had the yearly Pot Luck Lunch.  There was Quinoa, Chili, Baked Beans, Cider, Cinnamon Buns, etc..  Everything was great!

During the day, we sold a Peruvian colored Hood that we had knitted recently.  It was perfect weather for it!  We plan to knit another Peruvian Hood later this week if there's time.

We had gotten an order Friday evening saying that a new Customer would like us to knit a hat for him. It's going to be knitted using black yarn and have white lettering.  Once it's completed, we plan to post some pictures for you to see in the next few weeks.

Well, this is all for right now.  More knitting news to come in the next few days!  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

The Kentlands Market (9-29-12)

Good afternoon everyone!  I hope you're having a wonderful start to the weekend.

At today's Farmer's Market in the Kentlands area, the temperature was quite chilly.  I'm hoping it'll be a little warmer next weekend.

While at the market, we sold a Phone Sock and a Yarn Necklace.  We would like to thank those who had asked for business cards for themselves and their friends.

We hope to see all of you next Thursday at Damascus High School and also on Saturday for the market in Kentlands, again.  We plan to have more winter items with us for both markets.

Kentlands Market, Upcoming Holiday Events, Gifts

Hello everyone!  Sorry I hadn't done too much posting lately, but I had been under the weather last week.

Starting today, I started knitting a baby hat that I had planned to do last week.  Once the hat is completed, I plan to post a few pictures for you all to see in the next few weeks.

At the Kentlands market yesterday, I sold a Peruvian Print colored hood.  I plan to knit a few more in the next few weeks since the weather is getting cooler and that one particular hood seems to be a favorite a lot of the Customers tend to buy the most.

Starting in November, I plan to be a Vendor for the Craft Bazaars and other holiday-themed events for the Mill Creek Parish Church and also at the First Baptist Church in Gaithersburg.  More information will be posted for both events in the next few weeks.  Please look for the posting starting mid-October.

Since it's getting closer to the holiday season, I'm taking orders for gifts to be made.  If you want to place an order, please send an e-mail to:  knittingbyleah@yahoo.com and include your specific colors, sizes, type of style and when the item is needed to be completed for pick up.

Well, this is all for right now.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  More knitting news to come soon.

The Markets & Upcoming Projects

Good afternoon everyone.  I hope you're having a wonderful start to the weekend.

At the Farmer's Markets, the weather was perfect!  It was a little windy, but not too bad for both days.

On Thursday, at Damascus High School, we sold Dish Cloths and Phone Socks.  The Phone Socks that were sold had been knitted by using yarn in the colors of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF).  We would like to thank those who are purchasing the orange and maroon colored Phone Socks to help with donations to the NKF.

While we were at the high school, there was a Back-To-School event for the parents.  Some of the parents stopped at our table and took business cards.

As for today's market in Kentlands, we sold Kindle/Nook Covers and more Dish Cloths.  We also got an order for a baby hat to be knitted.  The hat is going to be green and blue colored.  It's also going to be knitted using cotton yarn.

Well, this is all for now.  More knitting news to come soon.

September 8th Farmer's Market Thank You

Well, it sure was a very interesting day yesterday at the Farmer's Market in the Kentlands area.  First, the temperature reached to be near the 90's and was very hot.  Then, by the time it was time to clean up for the day, the wind started to come.

We would like to thank those who came and bought Soap Socks and Crayon Carriers.  We also would like to thank those who took business cards, as well.  It was nice to see so many Customers coming to see what we all had for sale.

Next week, we plan to have sales for the early holiday shopping season.  So, please come to our table and either place an order for a holiday gift (we have a form for orders), or purchase one on the spot at that moment!  We are bringing hoods and other winter related items with us.  Hope to see you there!

Well, this is all for right now.  More knitting news to come soon.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.  Stay  safe!

Kentlands Market and a New Dish Cloth

Hello everyone!  I know it's been a few days since my last posting, but I've been a little busy.

As you can tell from this newest picture, this is one of the reasons why I've been busy.  This is the newest Dish Cloth I had knitted in the last few days.  Doesn't the pattern look interesting?  The best part is, it's made with the variegated yarn!  The yarn did this pattern on its own and I just had to make sure the Dish Cloth came out the correct way with the measurements and number of rows/stitches.
We will not be at next Saturday's market for the Kentlands.  We plan to be at the market on September 8th.

We would like to thank those who bought Crayon Carriers and Tissue Carriers.  It's nice to see how many Customers came to the market, as well.

Well, this is all for right now.  More knitting news to come soon.

Kentlands Market (8-18-12)

What a day we had at the Kentlands for the Farmer's Market.  We all were caught by surprise how lovely the weather had turned out for the day.  It's nice to know that the weather forecasters can be wrong sometimes and it works out for everyone!

During the market, we sold a Kindle/Nook Cover that was just finished last night!  It is knitted using variegated yarn.  Here is a picture of it.

We hope to see everyone again next week at the market in Kentlands on Saturday, August 25th.

Saturday's Market

Hello everyone!

I know I hadn't posted that much lately, but I have been extremely busy with a lot of other knitting-related issues.  From now on, I will try to write more often.

During the market at the Kentlands, there were some Customers stopping at our table and taking business cards.

There were two new Vendors.  One of the new Vendors sells personalized cookies with sayings on top.  The other new Vendor sells jewelry.  The rings that are sold stretch.

We will see all of you again next Saturday!  Have a great week!

Saturday, July 28, 2012

At the Markets

At both markets, we sold dish cloths, phone socks and mahjong bags.  We want to thank everyone who had stopped at our table and took business cards, as well.  It was nice seeing so many people coming outside-- despite the hot temperatures we've been having this Summer.  We hope to see you all next Thursday and Saturday at Damascus High School and also at the Main Street Pavilion in the Kentlands.

We are planning to start knitting more soap socks tomorrow afternoon.  If anyone is interested in purchasing a few, please send an e-mail with the exact shade of colors and sizes.  Since we use cotton yarn, some of the skeins of yarn are variegated and we can not guarantee how the pattern will turn out once the soap sock is completed.

Well, this is all for right now.  More knitting news to come soon.

Pictures for July 2012 (Fotos para julio 2012)

Hello everyone!  I hope that the weekend has been going well for you.

On the way to yesterday's market, in the Kentlands area, there was a family of deer walking on the side walk!  I wish I had the chance to take their picture so it could've been added in for this posting, but that's okay.  If I see them again next Saturday, I will try and get a picture.  The fawn still had its spots.

At the market, there were a lot of customers.  It was great seeing so many people coming to the market even with the odd weather that had been coming all day.

Here are two pictures I had taken at yesterday's Farmer's Market held at the Kentlands.  In the second picture, there is a variegated Soap Sock hanging on the Mind, Body & Salt table along with their soaps as a display.  One of the Soap Socks got sold!

Good evening everyone!
Buenas noches a todos.

This is a Basil plant I had gotten this afternoon from one of our Farmers that came to Damascus High School today.  I was told that his farm is trying to be more environmental and have green houses possibly be built on top of a roof.

As always, I'd like to thank those who had attended both of the Farmer's Markets held at Damascus High School  on Thursday and also at the Main Street pavilion yesterday.  I also would like to thank those for coming to our table and buying a Crayon Carrier on Thursday evening and a Dish Cloth yesterday afternoon.

While at the market yesterday, the Vendors from Mind, Body & Salt had given me a NEW idea for an item. They had asked me to knit Soap Socks.  You can have your bar of soap,( which they sell) in the sock and hang the sock with the soap around the area for the shower by using the drawstring and loop.  You can view all their items at:  mindbodysalt.com.

Also at the market, I took a picture of the band who had come to perform.  They were really great and added a terrific touch to the market at Kentlands!  I hope they perform for everyone again very soon.

Well, this is all for now.  When I have the chance to take a few pictures of the Soap Sock, I will add it in my next posting!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

This morning, I found out that when we start on May 12th at the Farmer's Market in Kentlands, our spot under the pavilion is no longer going to be number 8.  The new spot will be number 5.  Please look for Knitting By Leah on the sign attached to the table we will be bringing with us for the day.  The market is from 10 am-2 pm.

Speaking of the Farmer's Market, I started working on some Phone Socks and a Crayon Carrier (all knit using variegated Mexicana colored yarn).  One of the Phone Socks has holes for the draw string to go through.  It looks really great!  The Crayon Carrier also has a draw string and a FREE note pad for either children to draw on for long trips, or a person to use during a meeting.

Well, this is all for right now.  More knitting news to come soon.  Enjoy the weekend ahead!
